The new step sequencer lets you sketch 16-step loops with classic drum voices. Toggle steps directly in the grid, adjust tempo, and click each instrument's settings icon to open a detailed sound editor with multi-stage synthesis controls and instant preview.

Need to start over or bring back an older groove? Use Clear Pattern to wipe every step (with a safety prompt) or Import Pattern to load any JSON file generated by the export tool.

Want to swap out the instrument sounds entirely? The Import Kit / Export Kit buttons trade full drum kits, including per-voice synthesis settings and global sample/bit depth preferences. The experience boots with default-kit.json, which lives alongside this page in the repo so you can edit your go-to kit without touching the JavaScript.

The transport bar now shows the active kit name so you always know which sound palette is loaded. Each instrument lane also has Solo and Mute toggles, giving you quick control over the mix while you experiment with grooves.
